How it works
Group classes are booked and paid for in blocks of around 6 weeks - dates of each block confirmed via email before commencement. Classes that have to be missed can be made up by attending another class as long as 24 hours notice is given. We don't offer drop-in classes as we prefer to know who is attending and plan each class accordingly.
I've just introduced a Pay As You Go Option for increased flexibility. Classes still need to be booked in advance. Priority will be given to those you have booked and paid for a block.
One-to-one classes are also available. Perfect for individual needs or if you just prefer a more private environment. These don't have to be block booked - you can choose to do as many (or as few) as you like.
Now taking bookings for private studio classes at a lovely new studio space run by Harpenden Physiotherapy & Osteopathy in Southdown (hpoclinic.com/01582 769993). I am available to teach there on Mondays (12-4.30pm) and Thursdays (12-3pm). Booking and payment should be made through their app (HPO Fitness & Pilates).
Private group bookings with colleagues or friends, either at your office or your house. No block bookings are needed for these either.
What it costs
Group Matwork classes cost from £10 a class per person when block booking. Pay As You Go from £12 a class.
One-to-one Matwork sessions cost £30 (plus travel & hall hire (if applicable).
HPO studio sessions are £57 for an hour.
Pricing for all private group Matwork classes will be decided on an ad-hoc basis depending on location and numbers.
Please contact us to book a place in the class of your choice. Venue addresses provided on booking.
What to bring to class
Since Covid19, we no longer provide mats in community hall locations. Please bring your own mat plus any other equipment you may need. Our recommendation is to have at least one head cushion (about an inch thick & soft) and a resistance band which is at least 2 metres long (resistance strength to your liking). Wear clothing that is comfortable and easy to move in. Avoid zips and buttons, as these are uncomfortable to lie on, and hoods, which generally get in the way. Traditionally, Pilates is performed without shoes or trainers. Socks are a good idea in the winter months. Many people find non-slip socks work well, particularly when working on the studio equipment.
